BCA is Proud to Announce the April Charity Spotlight; Rebuilding Together Philadelphia #BCAProud @RTPhiladelphia

The mission of Rebuilding Together Philadelphia is to bring volunteers and communities together to improve the homes and lives low-income homeowners. RTP is the only organization in Philadelphia that uses a Block Build approach for an immediate impact on the health and safety of low-income homeowners and their families. This strategy utilizes between 100 and 300 volunteers, neighbors, and homeowners per day to repair 10 to 25 clustered homes in each targeted neighborhood over several days.

The BCA Real Estate Affinity Group will host the April Thursday Night Social and has nominated a Charity Spotlight that compliments their mission. Rebuilding Together Philadelphia is an organization that focuses efforts to enhance the quality of life for low income home owners.

The approach of identifying neighborhoods first, then individual homes, has enabled RTP to make the most efficient use of our resources and make a lasting impact for more homeowners and neighborhoods.

RTP is a local, independent affiliate of Rebuilding Together, Inc., the nation’s leading nonprofit organization providing critical home repairs, modifications, and improvements for America’s low-income homeowners.

Rebuilding Together Philadelphia was founded as Christmas in April of Philadelphia in 1988 by current board member Robert Bellinger and several of his fellow graduate students at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Wharton/Penn students continue to help 10 homeowners each year, taking on project management responsibilities for a Block Build in West Philadelphia each spring.

The affiliate was volunteer-run through 1999, when they hired their first Executive Director. They changed their name from Christmas in April of Philadelphia to Rebuilding Together Philadelphia in 2004. They have grown to a staff of four and also host an AmeriCorps member. Please join us in welcoming them as our April Guests!!
