Prelude Solutions is a woman-owned telecommunications company that helps businesses assess their telecom spend, services, and solutions to identify opportunities for cost savings, recover credits, uncover erroneous charges, and realign services through The Prelude Process®. Their work helps organizations better understand what they are paying for, where money may be lost, and how to make smarter decisions around telecommunications.
At the heart of Prelude Solutions is a commitment to doing business with purpose. Through the Prelude Cares Network, launched in 2022, Prelude donates a portion of its revenue from each client engagement to a nonprofit of the client’s choice. The initiative goes beyond financial support by creating ongoing partnerships rooted in engagement, advocacy, and collaboration.
CATE HEAMAN, CEO & FOUNDER
Leading Prelude is Cate Heaman, a proud CEO and Founder with 27 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. Cate has been a direct owner and partner of businesses in the Philadelphia region since 2005, when she founded her first telecom auditing and consulting business as an Avaya Platinum Partner and ShoreTel Silver Partner. With deep expertise in Avaya, Cisco, and Microsoft products, Cate built her career by helping companies navigate complex telecom environments with clarity and confidence.
In late 2016, Cate sold the hardware and software portion of her business and launched Prelude Solutions with a clear purpose: to build a woman-owned business that reflected her values, her leadership, and her belief in empowering others.
Cate leads with purpose, courage, humility, humor, and character. She believes deeply in building confidence within the ecosystem around her — her team, clients, partners, and community — so that everyone has the opportunity to grow and perform at a higher level. Since January 2020, Prelude has tripled in both size and revenue, a reflection of Cate’s leadership and the company’s strong foundation.
Beyond her work at Prelude, Cate is passionate about giving back, advocating for diversity and inclusion, supporting women-owned businesses, and building meaningful relationships. She is a WBENC National Forum Member and has served as a committee member for Cradles to Crayons’ Winter Un-Gala Event since 2016. Outside of work, Cate enjoys fitness, music, volunteering, spending time with family and loved ones, cheering on Philly sports, and being with her dogs and kitty.
Cate’s commitment to people, purpose, community, and meaningful connection makes her a natural fit for BCA.
