On Wednesday 6/11/25 we will be having another Health and Wellness Committee event that we wanted to invite you to. The Wim Hof Breathing and Cold Plunge is one of my favorite new ventures over the last few years….don’t be scared of the cold plunge!

Wim Hof Breathing and Cold Plunge

This 4 hour workshop covers the 3 pillars of the WHM, Wim’s background, why humans today need this method, the science behind the 3 pillars and top studies. The information portion takes about 1.5hrs, incorporating time for questions/feedback. We describe the 3 parts of the WHM breathwork (hyperventilation, retention, recovery), show a demo and finally allow everyone to do one round to see if there’s any questions or concerns. We find even experienced students gain a deeper/better understanding of the WHM breathwork after professional instruction. Following the instruction portion we provide a 45-60 min breathing session (about 8 rounds) before changing into bathing suits (or whatever) and getting ready for the cold exposure. We do ice baths for the cold exposure portion of our workshops and encourage participants to stay in for 2-5 mins. We are present for one-on-one support to ensure a successful ice bath. Post ice bath, everyone gets in a circle and does the “horse stance” meditation to warm up. (It is just horse stance / wide second position, twisting the warmer blood that retreated to the core back out to the extremities while chanting to create more heat). We close out by me and my partner taking a dip, we all horse stance together, give a cheer and that’s the workshop. It honestly ends up being longer than 4 hours if ppl want to talk or have questions, we can always tailor the workshop to meet your timing needs.
 
 
 
Jason’s Bio:
Jason is a 500 RYT (vinyasa, kundalini, nidra), Wim Hof Method Instructor Level II, and certified FIREwalking instructor. He has worked in supply chain management for the Department of Defense for over the past 15 years. He has been teaching yoga for the past 8 years at a number of yoga studios in the tri-state area, instructing students through power vinyasa, kundalini and yoga nidra classes. He is Animal Flow certified and prioritizes movement training in his workouts to promote full mobility and strength. Jason has found a deeper connection with his mind and body through the Wim Hof Method as a way to stay healthy and control anxiety. He is excited to share how the benefits of a strong breath practice and cold exposure, combine with a focused mindset help to improve immunity, decrease inflammation, strengthen circulatory system well as increase energy and focus! He conducts workshops 2-8 times a month in the PA, NY, DE & NJ areas to share the benefits of this method! Come join and discover your ability to voluntarily activate your autonomic nervous system, actively influence your immune response and consciously control your response to stress and pain.
