Philadelphia, PA – December 18, 2014 – The Kistler Tiffany Benefits BCA is pleased to announce their partnership with Coaches vs. Cancer. Starting in 2015, BCA’s Gibbons March Madness Event will officially be partnering with Coaches vs Cancer. Thursday, March 19th marks the 7th year for this annual event and the first time the event will take on a community partner.

BCA is delighted to be in a position to offer their Gibbons March Madness Event as an opportunity to raise awareness for Coaches vs. Cancer. In addition to spreading the word about this great cause, the partnership will aid in developing and growing relationships, for Coaches vs Cancer, with the business community – which is what lies at the core of BCA. Coaches vs. Cancer is equally excited about building relationships within the Philadelphia business community, making this a true partnership.

“While the event itself will not be changing (it will remain a private relational environment for BCA members and their select guests) we have a unique opportunity to support and bring awareness to an incredible organization doing amazing work in the fight against Cancer,” says Joleen Jaworski, President of BCA.

The Coaches vs. Cancer program empowers coaches, their teams, and communities to join the fight against cancer by participating in awareness efforts, advocacy programs, and fundraising activities. Guided by the Coaches vs. Cancer Council, participating coaches help people with cancer today and to find cures to end the disease tomorrow, and have raised more than $87 million to help the American Cancer Society’s mission.

“Gibbons has been the Title Sponsor of this event for 7 years, we are so thrilled to take it to a whole other level by partnering with such an empowering program like Coaches vs. Cancer,” says Alan Gries, Partner at Gibbons P.C. “As a proud BCA member since 2006, I can say first-hand the BCA membership is comprised of the area’s top business leaders who truly want to help one another succeed, which is why I see this partnership benefiting Coaches vs Cancer, Gibbons P.C., BCA and the community as a whole.”

In addition to guest appearances by select local college basketball coaches and other event-day activities, BCA will be announcing several more broad-reaching initiatives in support of Coaches vs Cancer over the next few weeks.

ABOUT COACHES VS. CANCER OF PHILADELPHIA:

Coaches vs. Cancer of Philadelphia is part of the national Coaches vs. Cancer program that was created in 1993 by the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC). The program exists to leverage the strength, community leadership, and popularity of our country’s college basketball coaches to fight cancer. In Philadelphia, Coaches vs. Cancer has a unique edge with our NCAA Division I basketball coaches uniting their passion and energy towards raising awareness and funds to help beat this disease. Coaches Phil Martelli (Saint Joseph’s University), Fran Dunphy (Temple University), Jerome Allen (University of Pennsylvania), James “Bruiser” Flint (Drexel University), John Giannini (La Salle University), and Jay Wright (Villanova University) may be opponents on the court, but off the court they have joined forces in the fight against cancer. Since its commencement in 1996, the Coaches vs. Cancer of Philadelphia program has raised close to $8 million for the Society’s mission.
