Thank you to everyone who joined us this morning for the BCA Hospitality Breakfast. A special thank you to our guest speaker, Col. Mark Tillman, who was able to teach us a lot about our country and about the days surrounding the tragic events on 9/11. He described the confusion, the fear, the anguish, but especially the heroism and patriotism that our country and it’s leaders showed during such a dark time.
Although it’s been over 17 years later, Col. Mark Tillman is a reminder that we will never forget everything that happened and everyone we lost on September 11, 2001.
KTB Healthy Morning
According to a 2017 survey out of the Society for Human ResourceManagement, standing desks are the fastest growing benefits trend. Butif your office hasn’t yet gotten around to installing them just yet, hereare some alternatives you can easily incorporate into your daily routinethat yield a similar, positive effect.
- Take a 10 minute walk every hour.
- Office Yoga – Bring a yoga ball to your cube and use that as a chair.
- Stretch at your desk. There are several exercises you can do to
stretch your arms, shoulders, neck and back while you are sitting. - Start scheduling “active meetings,” aka walking meetings.
Making your meetings on-the-go can provide something like 20miles each week to your exercise. - Sit at 135 in your chair. Leaning back (if your office chair is capable) actually puts less strain on your back than slouchingforward or at 90.
