When Edison Litho relocated its finishing and digital departments to a 115,000-sq. ft. Pennsauken, NJ facility, it turned to Hutchinson for its HVAC and lighting needs. Litho not only had locations in Edison but also had business locations in Moonachie, NJ and Kennesaw, Ga. With a strong urging from the state of New Jersey and the right incentive package, Edison decided to consolidate operations in Pennsauken.
Not being a native to the area they conducted research for a solid mechanical services provider and time and time again, Hutchinson was strongly recommended. They were large enough to take on a big job and knowledgeable about the services needed.
Hutchinson conducted an energy assessment to overhaul of its 30+ year-old HVAC systems and outdated lighting. Most of building’s existing systems were inoperable so timing was of the essence to complete load calculations, design, and provide a turn-key design build solution in an efficient manner.
HVAC systems were upgraded to high-efficiency package gas rooftop systems equipped with dual enthalpy economizers. For added peace of mind and efficiency, Hutchinson also provided a Wi-Fi controlled solution in which schedules and temperatures can be adjusted remotely throughout the facility.
The Hutchinson team also upgraded lighting to linear LED fixtures for the production area and retrofitted LED fixtures for the office area, in compliance with minimum Leed Silver Certification.
