On September 20th, we will turn the spotlight on the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention at our BCA Hospitality Breakfast. Helping us shed light on the issue of suicide will be our friend Paul Blake, from Beasley Media Group: WMMR, WMGK, BEN-FM, The Fanatic, ESPN, WXTU, who will share his story. We cannot thank Paul enough for the recommendation and for his courage.
The mission of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) is to raise awareness, funds scientific research and provides resources and aid to those affected by suicide. There is no single cause to suicide. It most often occurs when stressors exceed current coping abilities of someone suffering from a mental health condition. The AFSP is ready to help people understand the warning signs and assist with finding treatment among many other things.
