To begin thinking about these changes in the work environments due to this pandemic, we have collected the below tips and included some product solutions from our trusted manufacturers.
Keep the Distance
Maintain social distancing of employees by providing privacy for their individual workspace. Add some height to your existing panel system as another barrier. If your workstations are less than six feet apart and/or have no dividers, consider adding partitions at the front and sides to help block potential virus spread by coughing, sneezing, or talking. Consider shift work where every-other person is at their workstation.
Encourage your employees stand six feet apart when engaging in conversations.
Be Flexible to the New Ways of Working
Working from home has been different for everyone and has impacted the value we place on communication, re-connection, and work-life balance. In your time at home have you found yourself taking more breaks outside when the sun is shining? Or spent a little extra time enjoying your morning coffee? Think about how this will impact the way people return to work.
Encourage your employees and colleagues to take more breaks, move around, and get outside. It will help with their wellness and transition back to the office environment.
Keep it Clean
Cleaning protocols have always been important but are definitely on the forefront now more than ever. Have disinfectant wipes, sprays, and hand sanitizer throughout the work environment.
Ask personnel to clean their workstations daily, at minimum upon arriving and leaving for the day. Advise cleaning the shared environments such as conference rooms, common areas, coffee bars, printers, and filing cabinets. Consider adding touchless products such as garbage and recycling bins, soap dispensers, and door pulls.
Reinforce Social Distancing
The term Social Distancing is not going to disappear. The “six-foot rule” should still apply in the workplace.
Mark how far six feet is throughout your office space. Keep workers spread out by removing chairs from meeting spaces of 10 or more.
Encourage virtual collaboration and meeting even while physically at the office.
