Criteria #
Minimum Criteria #
In order to be considered (and continue to hold) a Board seat, the following minimum criteria must be met:
- Must be an approved BCA Decision Maker of a member company
- Must be a member for a minimum of one (1) year.
- Must be a member in good standing. Good standing is defined as payables are current and no major issues exist between BCA and the Member.
- Must be a minimum of an associate level member with standard payment terms (i.e., no special financial arrangements or terms)
Subjective Criteria #
- 1. Knowledgeable; Someone who has a masterful understanding of BCA and its culture and mission.
- 2. Selfless; Someone who can take their “member hat” off and can wear a “Board hat”
- 3. Active; Must be an engaged and active Member who knows and is respected by the membership
- 4. Reverently Opinionated
Commitments #
- Attendance at in-person monthly Board meetings
- – Less than 75% attendance is grounds for removal from Board
- Each Board member will hold a minimum of one 1:1 per month with a general Member.
- – These may be discussed and “assigned” at monthly Board meetings when needed.
- Board members agree to 9 month renewal timeline (vs. 3 month timeline for general Members).
- – As a member of the Board, you will be required to announce your renewal intention 9-months from your renewal date via signed agreement. Payment is not affected and will still be due as contracted.
- Board members commit to an annual review of their Board seat. Annual review to include evaluation of:
- Board meeting attendance
- 1:1 Activity
- Annual hospitality usage
